SALEM – The Oregon Legislature Joint Ways and Means Committee is traveling throughout the state to hear input from citizens and local officials about budget priorities for the coming biennium.

The panel will host a session in La Grande today (Friday) from 5-7 p.m. All three Umatilla County Commissioners will be in attendance to offer their priorities, and Chair Cindy Timmons hopes lots of people from throughout Eastern Oregon show up as well.

“It really gives anybody an opportunity to step up and say, ‘I’d like you to take a look at this project we have going on locally,’” she said.

The La Grande meeting will be held in Room 339 of the Hoke Union Building on the Eastern Oregon University campus. The final roadshow stop will be Friday, April 28 from 5-7p.m. (MDT) at the Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario.

The co-chairs of the budget committee have released their budget priorities framework outlining available resources for the state budget.
