LA GRANDE – (PSA From La Grande Public Works) La Grande Public Works will be installing new shut-off valves in the water distribution system as a part of the on-going construction of the new surgical building at the Grande Ronde Hospital campus. Work is anticipated to begin at 9:00 AM on Monday, March 6th, and will have impacts on water delivery in the surrounding areas.
Customers north of L Avenue/Deal Canyon Lane and west of Alder Street (See Map of affected area below-area marked in green) will experience a lack of volume and pressure due to the project. To complete the valve installation the connection to our high-pressure system that supplies this area will need to be shut off and the supply switched to the lower pressure system. This change is anticipated to keep the area supplied with water but will significantly decrease the available pressure. Please note that this pressure decrease may leave some customers in this area without water service during the project.
Customers in the area outlined in red on the map (Pinecrest Drive neighborhood), will be without water for the duration of the project. It is anticipated that the water service will be restored to normal later in the day on March 6th.
Please feel free to reach out to La Grande Public Works at (541) 962-1325 if you have any questions.
