BURNS-The North end of town on Foley Drive and N Broadway is in danger of flooding and the water is beginning to come over the top of the levee.
To help prevent flooding, water is being pumped into triangle park.
Due to the excessive amount of water, residents in these areas are experiencing problems with the sewer system from the runoff.
Residents in the impacted areas are asked to limit their water usage. There are no concerns about contamination as the water system is sealed and pressurized, which doesn’t wallow for cross contamination.
The City of Burns Public Works Department is providing 24 hours coverage due to these water issues.
If you are are in need of sandbags or know of someone who is, bring your shovel and head to the Harney County Fairgrounds. The Harney County Fairgrounds has a pile of sand and bags that are available for Harney County Residents.
