BURNS – City of Burns Code Enforcement Officer Emerson Budreau was on Harney County live earlier this spring to discuss the Nuisance Vegetation Ordinance, and a few things he is looking for that’ll keep Burns residents in compliance:

“Like weeds, any of that. Any of your shrubbery that is getting too tall. I got a list from public works of trees that are hanging too low or coming out into the right-of-way. They need to be able to grade, they need to be able to sweep, so that’s another part. It’s not just vegetation and the aspect of grass and weeds. It could be trees, it could be shrubs…I mean, all those aspects.”

Starting May 1, the City of Burns will take action to make sure that overgrown grass and weeds and other forms of nuisance vegetation are controlled. There will be a community clean-up happening in Burns May 17th through the 19th.
