OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has received a second round of federal food funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that will allow it to continue benefits for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program through the end of October amid the federal government shutdown.

DOH says that benefits can continue to be used as usual, but some WIC offices may temporarily close. DOH says updates will be provided if the timeline changes, and to check the WIC website for questions or to see if your local clinic is open.
