LA GRANDE – Fake identification is useless if police still find something to arrest you for anyway. A Washington man recently found this out the hard way. On February 13, Jessie Wallace Schwenk of Nine Mile Falls Washington was arrested by the Oregon State Police following a traffic stop near La Grande. The arrest specifically took place at roughly 3:07 p.m. on I-84 Westbound near Milepost 264. The OSP description of the incident is as follows:
“On stated time, date, and location I stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The driver had two warrants out of Lincoln County. When the suspect was taken into custody a felony amount of meth was located on his person. The suspect denied consent to search his vehicle and a search warrant was applied for and approved. During the search of the vehicle another felony amount of meth was located, several fake driver’s licenses with the suspects’ photo and different names and dates of birth. The vehicle was towed by Wagon Tire towing.”
As of the publishing of the report, Schwenk has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine -Substantial Quantity (10 g or More)
