Wallowa-Whitman National Forest looking for help

BAKER CITY – (Information provided by Wallowa-Whitman National Forest)  The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest fire organization is seeking to fill a range of full-time permanent and seasonal positions to start in 2022. We are accepting applications now through USAJOBS.gov, where positions can be found by searching any of the duty stations listed below.

Fire hire is conducted in phases, so please note the key dates and deadlines below. Be aware that all application periods close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, which is 8:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

Full-time, permanent GS 7-9 positions:  Applications being accepted now through September 15, 2021.

Full-time, permanent seasonal GS 6 and below positions:  Applications being accepted now through September 26, 2021.

Full-time, seasonal GS 2-5 positions:

Application period will open on October 13, 2021 and last through November 11, 2021.

La Grande Ranger District – La Grande, Oregon

La Grande Air Tanker Base

Blue Mountains Interagency Dispatch Center

Grande Ronde Rappel Crew

Wallowa Mountains Fire Zone (WMFZ) – Enterprise and Joseph, Oregon WMFZ includes Eagle Cap Ranger District, Wallowa Valley Ranger District, and Hells Canyon National Recreation Area.
