Wallowa Whitman National Forest accepting feedback on Morgan Nesbit Forest Resiliency Project

JOSEPH – (Release from the U.S. Forest Service) The Wallowa Mountains Office would like to announce that the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact for the Morgan Nesbit Forest Resiliency Project will be available to the public starting Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The purpose of the Project is to conduct restoration management activities to improve forest resiliency and sustainability and improve hydrologic functioning.

To facilitate community engagement and gather public input, an open house will be held on November 19th from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cloverleaf Hall in Enterprise, 600 NW 1st St, Enterprise, OR 97828. This event will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about the project, ask questions, and share their feedback.

Following the open house, a 30-day Legal Notice of Comment Period will commence on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and will conclude on Thursday, December 19, 2024. During this time, the public is encouraged to review the Draft EA and submit comments regarding the project.
