Wallowa County Veterans Services Moves to New Office, Expanding Support and Resources for Local Veterans

WALLOWA COUNTY — Big changes are coming for Wallowa County Veterans! The Wallowa County Veterans Services Office (VSO) is moving to a new location inside the Wallowa County ESD building, offering a greatly expanded space designed to better serve those who have served our country.

At a recent county commission meeting, commissioners approved the contract for the Veterans Service Office, marking an important step in securing the new space. The move has strong support from county leadership, with Commissioner Lisa Collier even taking us on a tour of the ESD building to highlight the many amenities that will be available to veterans.

The new location will feature a welcoming community room, a fully equipped conference room, and expanded access to both physical and mental health services, among many other Veteransโ€™ resources. Veterans will also find exclusive Veterans Only parking spots, beautiful new hand painted signage by local artist Ryan Finlayson to easily identify the new space from the outside of the building, and welcoming and friendly new and old Veteran Services staff.

โ€œThis new space is a game-changer for veterans in Wallowa County,โ€ said Lisa Collier, Wallowa County Commissioner. โ€œWith dedicated areas for group meetings, private consultations, and close access to health services, weโ€™re creating a hub where veterans can connect, receive care, and find the assistance they need. Weโ€™ve also added staff to better connect veterans with local resources and reduce response times. We are fully committed to our valued vets!โ€

Veterans and their families are encouraged to stop by, check out the new location, and learn about the many services available. For more information take a moment to visit with Ted Thorne, Wallowa County Veterans Service Officer, visit the new location at 107 SW 1st Suite 103 in Enterprise or call (541)426-0539.

Be on the lookout for information about our Wallowa County Veteran Open House in May, where Veterans and their families will be our guests of honor for a special dinner, and tour their new location and get connect at our local Veteran Services resource fair, and as an additional THANK YOU, Wallowa County has purchased CJD Rodeo tickets from all three members of the royalty court to gift to our Veterans. Tickets can be picked up at our Veterans Open House!

With the full support of county leadership and local healthcare providers, the new Veterans Services Office is more than just an upgrade, itโ€™s a major investment in the well-being of those who have given so much for our nation.
