ENTERPRISE – (Press release from the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office) On Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office will provide the community with a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.
Citizens are encouraged to bring their medications for disposal to the parking lot next to the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office, located at 104 West Greenwood Street in Enterprise.
This initiative addresses a vital public safety and health issue. Medications left in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. National rates of prescription drug abuse remain alarmingly high, contributing to accidental poisonings and overdoses. By removing these substances from the home, residents play a direct role in preventing pill abuse and theft.
