ENTERPRISE – The Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce is proud to introduce its new Executive Director, Stephanie Anderson Stroup. A five-year Wallowa County resident and previous member of the chamber board of directors, Stroup is excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve the county’s residents.

Stroup’s opening letter to the community is as follows:

“Hello Wallowa County!

If we don’t already know each other, I hope that we soon will. You’ll see me out and about at events, on the trails, at the lake, or hanging out in the sun with a coffee or a beer. I hope you’ll take the time to introduce yourself, tell me what you do, and share a little about what matters to you. Getting to know the people who live, work, volunteer, and do business here is one of the things I’m most looking forward to in my new role as ED.

Since 2019, I’ve lived, worked, volunteered, served on boards, owned businesses, hiked, rafted, camped, and skied across Wallowa County. For most of my career, I’ve run my own businesses and worked as a consultant to other small businesses, helping them improve operations, increase revenue, strengthen sales and marketing, and find solid footing for whatever comes next. Ultimately, I love to untangle tangles, spot opportunities, and figure out how to make good businesses even better.

I’m not new to the Chamber. I previously served on the Chamber Board of Directors, which gave me a front-row seat to both the opportunities and challenges we face as a community. It also gave me a real appreciation for just how much the Chamber does behind the scenes. From promoting our area as a visitor destination to supporting local businesses, managing our Rural Regional Main Street Program, and plenty of things in between, we wear a lot of hats. There’s a lot happening under one little roof — and my education by firehose has only just begun.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do this work in a place I love. There are a lot of smart, creative, hardworking people doing really great things in Wallowa County, and I’m excited to help connect some dots, bring people together, and see what we can accomplish.

And that starts with getting to know more of you.

The Chamber is kicking off a new Morning Brew Networking Series on September 17, and I’d love for you to stop by. Come by the Chamber office anytime between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m., grab a cup of coffee, say hello, and tell me what’s happening in your corner of the county. No agenda–just coffee, and a chance to connect.

I hope to see you there — and in the meantime, if you see me out and about, please say hello. Let’s roll up our sleeves and see if we can accomplish a thing or two together.

Cheers,

Stephanie Anderson Stroup, Executive Director”
