WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Arlene Alen recognizes laws and taxes challenge small business. On March 5, the chamber will host its first community charrette, focusing on planning for the future until 2025.
Alen explains that a charrette is a collaborative planning session focused on public ideas. It brings residents, leaders, and officials together to discuss important topics like housing, childcare, infrastructure, tourism, and agribusiness.
“We’ll have government people hosting tables and the public and members will be able to go from table to table sharing their ideas,” Alen explains.
Public input will then be documented by table hosts throughout the event, culminating in a comprehensive guide to transform action in the Walla Walla Valley.
