An update to this story explaining why the Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office did not charge Aaron Martin can be found here.
WALLA WALLA – Aaron Martin, a teacher at Walla Walla High School, was placed on paid administrative leave Thursday morning immediately after Walla Walla Public Schools received a tip alleging sexual misconduct involving an adult female. WA-HI Principal John Schumacher made the announcement Thursday in a letter to parents and guardians.
Schumacher said the tip was made on the district’s online tip reporting system and that this non-school related allegation did not involve students.
Walla Walla Public Schools notified city and county law enforcement agencies Thursday morning about this allegation and is cooperating with local law enforcement on this investigation.
The Walla Walla Police Department said it’s in the very beginning of this investigation which is open and ongoing.
The district asks anyone who might have additional information related to this investigation to contact WWPD at 509-527-4434.
Pending the outcome of the police investigation, Schumacher said a substitute teacher will be teaching Martin’s classes until further notice.
