WALLA WALLA – The city of Walla Walla Development Services Department has revived its Express Permit program, offering a streamlined five-day turnaround for specific residential building projects.

The program aims to fast track simple construction, providing a significant time-saving alternative to the standard four-to-six-week review period. Eligible projects include residential decks and photovoltaic systems; factory sheds (over 200 square feet); engineered pole buildings or retaining walls (over 4 feet); and covered patios, pergolas, and certain interior remodels.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the city’s civic access portal at: https://wallawallawa-energovweb.tylerhost.net/apps/selfservice.

Officials noted that if an application fails to meet the criteria for an Express Permit, it will be moved to the regular review process. The initiative is expected to particularly benefit members of the Home Builders Association and local homeowners seeking efficiency. For assistance, applicants can contact the department at pransier@wallawallawa.gov.
