Walla Walla Public Schools celebrates opening of new Blue Devil Stadium

WALLA WALLA โ€“ Walla Walla Public Schools celebrated the grand opening Wednesday of the newly completed Blue Devil Stadium. The ribbon cutting ceremony at Walla Walla High School marked the completion of the districtโ€™s $15 million outdoor athletic and activity facilities capital levy.

Approved by voters in February 2024, the levy funded upgrades at Wa-Hi, Pioneer Middle School, and Garrison Middle School. Completed projects include:

Blue Devil Stadium โ€“ Elevated ADA-accessible bleachers, new restrooms and changing facilities, high-quality turf, and modern low-glare stadium lighting

Murr Sports Park โ€“ Lighting for varsity baseball and softball fields

Wa-Hi Tennis Courts โ€“ Replacement of aging courts with eight new competition-level courts, fencing, bleachers, and landscaping

Pioneer Middle School โ€“ Installation of an all-weather track

Garrison Middle School โ€“ Repairs to tennis courts and resurfacing of its track

JROTC Obstacle Course โ€“ New Raider course for student training and first responder exercises

The Walla Walla Blue Devils will host their first home game in the new stadium on Friday, Sept. 12 against Hermiston. The game begins at 7 p.m.
