WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla police responded Tuesday to a report of possible child abuse. Sgt. Nick Loudermilk stated that a child, their mother, and Jeremy Allan Baker, 28, of Walla Walla, were interviewed.

Baker was arrested on probable cause for four counts of second-degree assault.

“There is no indication the assault is sexual in nature,” Loudermilk said.

Child Protective Services is involved, and three children were removed from the home. On Wednesday, Loudermilk said there were two victims, 7 and 5 years old.

On Thursday, Baker was back in Walla Walla County Superior Court where Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Michelle Mulhern stated there is a third child who apparently has also been harmed by Baker. That child’s age was not disclosed in court.

During Thursday’s hearing, Judge Patricia Fulton set Baker’s bail to $75,000 with no cash option due to concerns that the defendant is a flight risk.

Both Loudermilk and Mulhern said the investigation is ongoing. Baker is scheduled to be arraigned April 14.
