WALLA WALLA โ€“ Walla Walla City Manager Elizabeth Chamberlain and Council Member Rick Eskil will be in Olympia this coming Monday and Tuesday to share the cityโ€™s legislative priorities with the Washington Legislature.

While there, Chamberlain said she and Eskil will talk to legislators about the city of Walla Wallaโ€™s idea of looking into a sales tax sharing agreement with the city of College Place.

At the conclusion of Wednesday nightโ€™s city council meeting, Chamberlain said State Rep. Mark Klicker (R-Walla Walla) is sponsoring House Bill 2428 which would allow cities to voluntarily share certain sales and use tax revenue. The bill has a hearing scheduled for next week.

โ€œAnd that hearing is scheduled for Monday, so weโ€™ll be prepared to testify on that,โ€ Chamberlain said.

Other legislative priorities that Chamberlain and Eskil are there to support are the completion of phase eight of US 12 and the Myra Road extension project.
