Walla Walla man sentenced on child rape charges

WALLA WALLA – Mark Anthony Fowler, 63, was sentenced Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court to more than 11 years in prison on two counts of rape of a child in the first degree.
According to court documents, count one occurred on or between July 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024. Count two occurred on or between Dec. 29, 2021, and Dec. 28, 2022. The victims, to whom Fowler is related, were younger than 12 years old at the time the crimes happened.
Before sentencing, Fowler spent 12 minutes apologizing for his actions and requested the court to grant him a special sex offender sentencing alternative. His request was denied.
