WALLA WALLA – A 75-year-old man was arrested last week following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse dating back more than a decade, authorities said.

Felizario Lopez Marquez, of Walla Walla, was taken into custody Wednesday, March 4. The arrest follows a disclosure from a teenage victim who reported the abuse occurred in 2015. Police said the victim was a child being babysat by Marquez at the time of the alleged incidents.

Marquez has been formally charged with six counts of first-degree rape of a child, three counts of first-degree child molestation, and one count of intimidating a witness.

Court records show Marquez posted a $10,000 bond and was released from custody pending further proceedings.

An arraignment for Marquez is scheduled for Thursday (tomorrow) at 9 a.m. in Walla Walla County Superior Court.
