Walla Walla man enters plea to felony charges, including rape of a child

WALLA WALLA – Julian D. Saldana, 22, of Walla Walla who was arrested earlier this month on multiple felony charges entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court.

His arrest on June 5 was the result of an ongoing investigation that started in April after the Walla Walla Police Department received a report he allegedly assaulted a juvenile. During the course of the investigation, the victim reported to detectives that Saldana threatened them with a firearm after the initial sexual assault report had been made.

Saldana was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on charges of third-degree rape of a child, second-degree rape, second-degree assault, supplying liquor to a minor, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, second-degree discharging a laser, intimidating and bribing a witness.

His trial is scheduled to begin August 13.
