Walla Walla man dies in single-vehicle collision

ASOTIN — The Washington State Patrol reports a Walla Walla man died Sunday following a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon. Troopers said Paul R. Freels, 55, was southbound on State Route 129 at mile post 10, 26 miles south of Asotin city limits.

Freels’ 1991 Toyota Corolla left the roadway and struck a guardrail Saturday at 1:41 p.m. He was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin were notified by hospital staff.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
