WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Police Department arrested a local man Saturday night after he allegedly refused to leave a hospital following his medical discharge, authorities said.

David Mejorado, 56, of Walla Walla, was taken into custody at the Providence Saint Mary Medical Center emergency department. According to police, Mercado became upset after being discharged and refused to exit the premises.

The incident escalated as Mejorado allegedly created a disturbance by yelling and throwing various items, including a chair. Despite the disruption, police confirmed that no assaults occurred, and the hospital said operations were not impacted.

Mejorado was booked into jail on a charge of first-degree criminal trespass for failing to leave the facility after being ordered to do so by hospital staff.
