WALLA WALLA – Downtown Walla Walla will host a variety of holiday festivities this Saturday starting with a holiday tree lighting, followed by a lighted parade.
The public is invited to stop by Heritage Square Park, located at 116 East Main Street, for the annual holiday tree lighting at 5 p.m. Then at 6 p.m., the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation will present the annual Holiday Parade of Lights.
“This event features a huge variety of lighted entries and thousands of spectators who help herald in the start of the holiday shopping season,” Executive Director Kathryn Witherington said.
The parade begins at the corner of Alder and Fifth streets, then travels east on Alder to Palouse, Palouse to Main Street, and Main Street to Fifth.
“The jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus, will bring the parade to a close as he makes his way into downtown Walla Walla,” Witherington added.
Walla Walla Public Works reminds motorists that Main and Alder streets will be closed from Palouse to Sixth from 4 to 8 p.m. for the parade.
