Walla Walla County commissioners to interview and appoint new county auditor today

WALLA WALLA โ€“ The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. today (Monday) to interview candidates for the vacant county auditor position, which became open due to Karen Martin’s retirement after 36 years.

The Walla Walla County Republican Party has submitted three names for consideration. They are Beth Daves, an information technology specialist; Sheryl Park, a local tax preparer; and William Plucker, a civics and social studies teacher at Walla Walla High School.. The interviews are public, but only the commissioners will ask questions.

According to the agenda, after the interviews, the commissioners will hold an executive session to assess the candidates’ qualifications and then appoint someone to the position.
