Walla Walla County Commissioners to consider EMS and facility use for autopsies agreements

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners meets at 10:55 a.m. today (Monday) and will consider two separate agreements dealing with emergency medical services and facility use for autopsies.

The commissioners are expected to sign interagency agreements with the cities of College Place and Walla Walla, plus Fire Protection Districts 1 through 8 for emergency medical services. Walla Walla County has no full-time fire department or EMS staff.

Next, the commissioners will consider approving an interlocal cooperative agreement with the Benton County Coroner’s Office for use of their facility to conduct autopsies. Benton County shall receive $200 per autopsy conducted in Kennewick and $300 per autopsy if a Benton County autopsy assistance or technician is needed.
