Walla Walla Commissioners look to adopt five-year homeless plan

WALLA WALLA โ€“ The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday morning before they consider the adoption of the countyโ€™s five-year homeless plan.

The plan will be a guiding document for homeless issues in Walla Walla County. It will be updated as needed, and will have annual report to commissioners, the Council on Housing and the stateโ€™s Department of Commerce.

The mission of the plan is to, โ€œReduce homelessness and housing instability in collaboration and using a continuous quality improvement framework.โ€

Washington state law requires that each countyโ€™s homeless housing task force develop and recommend to tis local government legislative authority a five-year local homeless housing plan for its jurisdictional area.

The public hearing will be held at 10 a.m. as part of Tuesdayโ€™s session of the board of commissioners weekly meeting, followed by commissioners discussion and potential adoption.
