WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council elected Gustavo Reyna as mayor and Steve Moss as mayor pro tem on Wednesday. Both Reyna and Moss will serve in these positions for two-year terms covering 2026 and 2027.
In the council-manager system, the mayor presides at council meetings and is recognized as the head of the city for ceremonial purposes but has no regular administrative duties.
Reyna addressed the councilmembers following his selection.
“I would just invite us all to work together to collaborate to think of the important things because it is really not about us, it’s about the people that we served,” he said.
Moss will perform duties when Reyna is absent or temporarily unable to serve.
