WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg City Council formally accepted an offer Wednesday on the old city hall building, located at 147 Main St. David Seidl of Walla Walla offered $130,000 for the property and plans to build apartments, according to City Administrator Randy Hinchliffe.

The city council decided on a stack offer which allows Hinchliffe to accept a second $130,000 offer from another party if the Seidl offer falls through.

Hinchliffe explained the Seidl offer is required to close by April 4 before it’s abandoned and the city moves to the next offer.

So far this year, two prior offers to purchase the two-story, 4,157 square foot commercial building have fallen through.
