WALLA WALLA โ€“ Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal was in Walla Walla Friday to visit the Walla Walla Center for Children and Families to learn more about the districtโ€™s transitional kindergarten program. During his walking tour with Superintendent Wade Smith, Reykdal also visited Edison Elementary to see the dual language program in action.

โ€œWalla Walla has a long history of quality education, so itโ€™s been an outstanding visit,โ€ Reykdal said. โ€œTelling the story of our kids and educators matters to legislators and itโ€™s my role to bring the needs of schools to our elected officials.โ€

Superintendent Reykdal finished his district visit with a trip to the Southeast Area Technical Skills Center, better known as SEATech to tour that facility and see students participating in hands-on programs. SEATech was established to provide advanced-level career and technical education programs to prepare students for post-secondary education and successful entry into high-skill, high-demand careers and employment.
