Voters to decide whether or not to construct new swimming pool

JOHN DAY – Voters within the John Day/Canyon City Parks and Recreation District boundaries will be able to cast their ballots this May either in favor or against building a new aquatic center swimming pool on 7th Street.

Wednesday, John Day City Manager Nick Green was on KJDY’s Coffee Time:

“The ballot [measure] was filed by the Parks and Recreation District, so it will be referred to the voters to decide on May 17th if they want to move forward with the project or not.

At the end of the day, we’re excited that the voters are going to have a chance to vote and that they’ll know what they’re voting on, and the buck stops with them.”
