DAYTON – Voters’ pamphlet statements arguing both for and against dissolving the Columbia County Rural Library District have been filed with the county auditor’s office. Voters will decide the library’s fate in November.
The 250-word statements explain why the issue is on the ballot, and the potential impact of the upcoming election.
Those wishing to dissolve the library district have an issue with the display of what they see as age-inappropriate sexual material in the children’s section of the Dayton library.
Supporters of the library district say it’s a vital resource for the county’s residents. The voters’ pamphlet will be sent out in October.
