WALLA WALLA – The Pine Street reconstruction project virtual open house is now available through April 4. The city of Walla Walla will reconstruct Pine Street from Second Avenue to Cayuse Street starting in the early fall of 2025 and running through 2026.

The $8.5 million project will replace failing asphalt pavement and enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety by adding bike lanes and pedestrian bulb-outs at intersections. Additional improvements include the installation of new water and sewer mains, a new storm drain system, and new streetlights.

Another addition to improve safety and the operation of the intersection at Ninth Avenue and Pine Street will be the installation of a compact roundabout.

The city encourages citizens to learn more about the project, plus share questions and feedback, as well as sign up for updates by visiting www.gowallawalla.us/pine
