PASCO – A decision to follow a car stolen Saturday night from Connell that was driving erratically led the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to several stolen items north of Pasco.
Undersheriff Monty Huber said five individuals were detained from the residence and camper trailers on the property which was already under surveillance due to reports of it being involved with multiple vehicle thefts.
In addition to the stolen car from Connell, four additional stolen vehicles were recovered from the property as well as several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen tools and construction materials.
A large artifact and fossil collection valued at nearly $100,000 was also recovered. This collection was inside of a large trailer that was recently stolen from a storage facility in Kennewick.
Work is underway to track down the owners of the stolen goods.
