Vehicle Accident Leads to DUII and Drug Arrest

LA GRANDE – (Release from La Grande Police) On October 23, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., La Grande Police Department (LGPD) officers responded to a citizen report of a possible intoxicated driver who had crashed on Cove Avenue near Progress Loop in La Grande.

Officers arrived moments later and located the driver, Jackson Borge, [34], of La Grande, unconscious behind the wheel of a 2011 red Ford Focus. Officers quickly determined that Borge was suffering from a suspected drug overdose and administered Narcan. Borge regained consciousness and was transported by La Grande Fire Department ambulance to Grande Ronde Hospital, where he was treated and later released.

During the course of the investigation, officers interviewed witnesses and seized evidence from the scene. Approximately 19 grams of a white crystalline substance were recovered, which later presumptively tested positive for fentanyl-laced methamphetamine. The crash investigation also revealed approximately $500 in property damage to a stop sign as a result of the collision.

Following his release from the hospital, Borge was arrested and lodged on the following charges: Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (Drugs), Reckless Driving, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Borge was cooperative with officers throughout the investigation.
