OLYMPIA – The office of Washington Rep. Andrew Barkis was vandalized Monday morning in Olympia, and the entire incident was captured by a Ring video doorbell. The video was posted on Twitter by House Minority Leader J.T. Wilcox.

The security footage shows two masked individuals using a hammer to destroy the window, then lighting and throwing a flare which landed on a masonry floor.

The building, which also houses the office of the House Republican election campaign, was not seriously damaged.

Republicans and Democrats in Washington have condemned the vandalism.

“Such attempts at violence are abhorrent,” Gov. Jay Inslee wrote when he re-tweeted Wilcox’s video. “We’re thankful no one was hurt. Hopefully law enforcement is able to identify these individuals before they inflict any more harm.”
