VALE – (Release from BLM) Vale District Bureau of Land Management crews and contractors will begin replacing toilet facilities at recreation sites in northern Malheur County and eastern Baker County next week.
Existing vault toilets at Oasis Recreation Site near Huntington, Ore., and the north half of Bob Creek Recreation Site on Hells Canyon Reservoir will be pumped out, demolished and replaced. Work will begin Monday, July 18, at the Oasis site and Wednesday, July 20, at the Bob Creek site. The toilet areas at both sites will be closed to users through Sunday, July 24.
Both sites will be closed entirely Monday, July 25, for the installation of the new toilets, reopening for use Tuesday, July 26.
The south half of the Bob Creek Recreation Site will not be affected by the work being done and will remain open to the public throughout. Each site will also be posted. To check a site’s status, or for more information, please call 541-523-1256.
