BAKER CITY – (Information provided by Vale District BLM) Seven Vale Bureau of Land Management Fire personnel recently received the prestigious national “Airward” for their aid and support of a coworker who suffered a heart attack while training last September.  Given by the USDA Forest Service in recognition of professional performance during a hazardous aviation event or significant contribution to aviation mishap prevention, the recognition was the first order of business at the Oregon/Washington Fire and Aviation Leadership Team’s spring meeting, which was held virtually this year.
