UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for appointment to fill two upcoming vacancies on the Umatilla County Fair Board of Directors. These are at-large positions open to all residents of the county.

In a news release, the county stated that a diversity of interests and geographical location within the county is desired. All who are interested are urged to apply on the county website at https://umatilla.casellehire.com/jobs/279528. The link is also available on the county website by clicking on “jobs.” The first review will be on Nov. 4.

“If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a part of something that has a lasting impact in your community, consider supporting the Umatilla County Fair,” the release states. “The board’s diverse talents and range of knowledge are utilized to the fullest in order to maintain our existing programs and to create new experiences for fair patrons reaching far beyond the county’s borders.”

Members of the board serve a board-elect year before beginning their terms of three consecutive years. The first year is considered a training year before they can vote. They are eligible to serve a second consecutive three-year term with the approval of the fair board and the county commissioners. The two appointees would begin with a board-elect year in 2025, with the official term starting on Jan. 1, 2026, and ending Dec. 31, 2028.
