BAKER CITY — A Utah man is facing multiple charges after a recent traffic stop near Baker City.

On Sunday, April 28, an Oregon State Police Trooper pulled over a driver for traffic violations on I-84 near the Baker City Truck Corral exit. The Trooper, suspecting impairment, proceeded to conduct a field sobriety test, during which a concealed firearm was discovered in the vehicle. A juvenile female was also in the car.

22-year-old Ricardo Crisosto of Utah was arrested on multiple counts including DUII (Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants), Reckless Endangerment (related to the juvenile passenger in the vehicle), and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

The juvenile – a 15-year-old girl – was safely taken into custody by authorities and the Department of Human Services (DHS) was notified.

Following the arrest, the vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was transported to the Baker County Jail. Despite registering a 0.00% alcohol content in a breathalyzer test, the Trooper opted to collect a urine sample from Crisosto.

He was subsequently lodged into jail without incident.
