Utah man arrested for making threats to bomb Kennewick school

KENNEWICK – A Layton, Utah man was arrested Friday after posting on Facebook threats to bomb St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Kennewick on the same day (Fri., Oct. 14).

The Kennewick Police Department was dispatched at 11:36 a.m. Friday to a reported bomb threat at the school, located at 901 W. Fourth Ave.

Information was received from the Layton Police Department that an individual identified as Cesar Olveda, 28, made the threat on social media. An investigation determined Olveda was presently residing in Layton, Utah and was not in the Kennewick area.

Layton police officers were able to make contact with Olveda. He was arrested in their jurisdiction for charges regarding the bomb threat.
