WALLULA — The Washington State Department of Transportation reports emergency work to stabilize the rock slope along US 730 is complete and the roadway is scheduled to reopen this afternoon (Friday) at 4 p.m. The roadway has been closed since Jan. 19 following a rockfall.
Apollo Construction, along with WSDOT, started emergency work Wednesday, Jan. 26 to remove loose and unstable rocks from the slope above the highway.
The portion of US 730 that was closed was between Wallula Junction and the Oregon state line.
