HILGARD – The Upper Grande Ronde River Watershed Partnership are hosting a Floodplain Restoration Project Tour this April. Those interested in learning about the preservation of Eastern Oregon’s Watersheds are invited on a trip to the Umatilla National Forest. The tour will stop by three restoration project sights: McCoy Meadows, Birdtrack Spring and Longley Meadows. Project managers will provide action descriptions of each sight and guests will learn about the importance of shallow groundwater storage.
The tour is scheduled for April 19 and will begin at 2:30 at the Hilgard State Park. Dinner will be provided. Those interested can call 541-963-9309 or email dkurtz@andersonperry.com to RSVP.
