HARNEY COUNTY-Morning update July 23, 2024, for the Telephone Fire.
•Northwest Incident Management Team 8 took command of the fire last night.
•Estimated at 5000 acres.
•Winds pushed the fire south which prompted Harney County authorities to elevate evacuation levels
•Fire is about 6.7 miles from HWY 395, 13.5 miles from Burns, 11 miles from Buchanon and 17 miles from Van
•OSFM structure crews will be scouting and doing reconnaissance south to southeast of the Telephone fire.
