BAKER COUNTY – Just over a year ago the Baker County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in Richland the resulted in the seizure of 11 horses, due to neglect. Several days later all the horses had been adopted. Recently the Baker County Sheriff’s Office received correspondence regarding one of the horses, with an update on how the horse, previously called Junior but now named Waldo, is doing.
Below is the update shared by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office from Anne, who adopted Waldo.
“Waldo and I have been working together since April through Sound Equine Options’ volunteer training program. We have been building trust and getting to know each other. We do a ton of groundwork, and he is getting closer to having his first ride. He loves attention and is very smart and sweet though a little cautious and fearful at times (15 years of minimal to no handling will do that to a horse). I fell in love with this sweet boy along the way and decided to adopt him in October. I am thankful every day for the joy he has brought to my life. He has a safe and healthy forever home with me!”
