DIXIE – The Dixie School District’s replacement educational programs and operational levy could be on its way to passing.
According to early results, 66 percent of voters approved the levy with 113 voting in favor of it and 56 voting against it.
The Walla Walla County Auditor’s Office said there was 39.39 percent voter turnout for Tuesday’s special levy election. In February, the special levy election ended in a tie.
If approved, the levy would cost Dixie taxpayers $1.40 per $1,000 of assessed property valuation. The levy would collect a total of $140,000 in 2025 and the same amount again in 2026.
Official results are expected on May 3. Walla Walla County Auditor Karen Martin said a levy passes with a simple majority which is 50 percent plus one.
