LA GRANDE — Get ready for a day of unity, celebration, and positive change as the Eastern Oregon Walk for Recovery 2023 gears up. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 7 at 10:00am at the Center for Human Development (CHD), located at 2301 Cove Ave in La Grande. This community-driven initiative aims to not only raise funds but also strengthen the recovery community and inspire lasting change.
“This is more than just a fundraiser. It’s an opportunity to build community power, promote, promote pride in recovery and demonstrate the power in numbers.” says Brooke Taylor, Recovery Mentor at CHD.
According to CHD, the event aims to :
1. Build Community Power:
Gather with friends, family, and supporters to fortify the recovery community. Your presence sends a powerful message of solidarity.
2. Promote Pride in Recovery:
Celebrate your journey and the achievements of those in recovery. This event is an opportunity to showcase that recovery is something to be proud of.
3. Demonstrate the Power in Numbers:
Unite to create meaningful change. Your participation aids in raising crucial funds for programs supporting recovery.
4. Enjoy Music:
Groove to uplifting beats that will lift your spirits and enhance the celebratory atmosphere.
5. Hear Inspirational Speakers:
Listen to individuals who have walked the path of recovery and elected officials supporting the cause. Their stories are sure to inspire.
