UNION โ In a recent newsletter, the City of Union posted a reminder from Union Sanitation regarding unsecured trash bags and garbage cans. Union residents are asked to make sure all garbage bags are tied shut, and trash can lids closed when disposing of garbage outside. Preferably, trash can lids should be further weighed down by a rock or similar heavy object when leaving cans on the curb for pickup.
During windy winter days, unbagged trash or unsecured cans can easily blow over city streets. Properly secured bags and cans will help prevent a lengthy and obnoxious cleanup
Union Sanitation would also like to remind residents to have their cans at the edge of the street during pickup days. Cans not on the curb cannot be picked up by garbage trucks and may be skipped during garbage pickup.
