Union County Seeking Community Feedback on Possible Land Rezoning

UNION COUNTY – As part of Union County’s plan to further expand commercial and Industrial opportunities, county officials are looking for feedback on the possibility of rezoning land for future economic development. Community members are asked to submit ideas for land that could benefit from commercial rezoning. According to Union County Commissioner Donna Beverage, property owners that would like to have their land rezoned and would be willing to potentially sell it for future development are especially encouraged to reach out. The county’s actual notice on the project provides additional context:

“Union County wants to support sustainable economic growth in the region! We lack commercial and industrial zoned land to help businesses grow and thrive here. Union County is working with the Department of Land Conservation and Development to conduct an Economic Opportunity Analysis and investigate the potential to help us rezone properties to employment land designations (commercial and industrial)!

The deadline to submit feedback and ideas is May 5. The County will begin property/site evaluation afterward.
