UNION COUNTY – Union County Search and Rescue recently announced that the team’s K9 Handler, Elaine LaRochelle (right) and her dog Bluey (center) officially achieved their trailing certification, a massive milestone for any K9 handler team. In a recent post, Union County SAR would write:

“Achieving and maintaining a K9 certification is a huge accomplishment that requires hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of work by the handler and dog, and we are incredibly proud of Elaine for the time that she and Bluey have put into achieving this milestone! Elaine is a dedicated SAR volunteer and also serves as an incident commander and sits on our board of directors.”

Union County SAR would also like to thank Cind Lemcke (left) with Grant County Search and rescue for proctoring Bluey’s evaluation based on Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association SAR K9 certification standards.
