ISLAND CITY – (Press Release from the Union County Farm Bureau) The Union County Farm Bureau is proud to announce Dennis (Senior) and Karen Fenn, owners of Fenn’s Towing and Repair, as the Grand Marshals for the 2026 Ag & Timber Parade. With the event now less than two weeks away, the community is invited to celebrate the Fenns’ decades of service to the region on Friday, May 15th, at 6:00 PM.
For over a quarter-century, Dennis and Karen Fenn have been fixtures in Eastern Oregon. Beyond providing essential 24/7 towing and recovery services—often in the most grueling conditions on Cabbage Hill, Ladd Canyon, and many Union County backroads—the Fenns are known for their deep-rooted community support. From sponsoring local youth sports and events to donating equipment to La Grande High School’s manufacturing program, the Fenns embody the spirit of the Ag and Timber industries.
“We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to lead this year’s parade,” said a spokesperson for the Union County Farm Bureau. “Dennis and Karen represent the hard work, reliability, and community-first mindset that this parade is all about.”
The parade will follow its traditional route through Island City, starting at the intersection of W 1st St. and D St., traveling east, then turning south on McAlister Road toward Buchanan Lane.
Call for Participants: There is still a limited window for businesses, farms, and individuals to enter their floats, tractors, and “tough rigs” in the parade. With only 16 days remaining until the event, interested parties are urged to register immediately.
